Quotes about my experiences

I often create little posts with quotes I feel have helped me on my Facebook page.

I thought I’d share some of my own work, pictures and quotes about my experiences I’ve been creating, here on this page.

My hope is that something will resonate or spark a thought that could lead to some self exploration.

Why I share my own experiences

You may have already read the more about me page that offers an overview of my own mental health experiences. I share my experiences because many people have little to no hope of having a different life.  I’m here to remind anyone that needs it, that it is possible. It feels hard to even begin to piece together who I was when I was in the grip of anxiety and depression. It’s almost like I am a different person now. I will not let anxiety and depression define who I am and what I am capable of doing. I believe that this attitude has helped to carry me through very difficult times.

Recovery means facing yourself and making any changes that you need to in order to have a better life. This means putting yourself first and a lot of people I come across are incredibly thoughtful of other peoples feelings. Whilst this is a lovely attribute to have, uncontrolled this leads to living a life full of pleasing everyone else around you. You are entitled to make decisions based on what you want to do and how you feel. This doesn’t make you selfish or arrogant. If anything I’ve noticed it’s made me more appreciative of other people. I’m not spending time noticing how unhappy I am because I feel like I have more control over my life.

I’ve began to create short videos on YouTube talking about mental wellness, offering insight and my perspective into what helps me and the people I see.
